Le musée d'arts de Nantes
Patrick Richard , Stanton Williams
The Musée d'arts, which was established in 1801 and has been housed in the current building since 1900, has been a major cultural institution in Nantes since the beginning. The institution thus deserved a new lease of life worthy of its importance, and its heritage status was a fundamental parameter in the renovation project. In 2009, Stanton Williams won an international competition for the transformation and extension of the Musee d'arts in Nantes and the design for the interior of the buildings that make up the new museum. This book tells the ins and outs of the architectural project and the museography.
